Parliamentary Cost-Savings

Appearing as a witness at the Administration
Select Committee Adam Afriyie MP presented the case for
the introduction of a wireless network in Parliament on
the grounds that it will mean better use of time for MPs
and value for money for tax-payers.
Adam said, “I’m delighted to have argued the case for a
wireless LAN (local area network) which will improve the
work rate of MPs who use laptop computers in and around the
Parliamentary Estate.”
He added, “Parliament has agreed to extend the current
service in the near future and I am thankful to my other
Parliamentary colleagues for supporting the case.”
