Trouble at Princes Close

"Luckily my home in Windsor is on the fourth floor. I feel safe when I close the door.

Home has traditionally been a place where we feel free from the threat of crime. ‘An Englishman’s home is his castle’, but something is amiss in Eton Wick.

After a recent visit, I reported on the anti-social behaviour and vandalism. I am increasingly concerned because a few days ago I received a petition from the residents of Princes Close seeking action to bring the bad behaviour of local yobs under control.

I have heard of the same intimidation, threats and yobbish behaviour from people in Datchet, Clewer, Windsor town, Colnbrook and Poyle.

In Thames Valley recorded crime is up by 19.1%.

Despite tough words and a 45% increase in the payment for policing through our council tax, this government and the local Liberals are failing to protect us in our homes.

This Saturday I will be visiting Eton Wick to speak with local residents and see if there’s a way to help.

It is time for firmer action. Complacency cannot substitute zero tolerance policing which puts respect and discipline at the core of a civilised society."
