IlLiberal fibbers - where’s our 100 quid?

"As part of my drive to hear the views of all residents, I was on the streets of Sunningdale last Saturday.

We were listening to residents and gaining new members for the newly formed Sunningdale branch.

It was a sunny day and people were jovial, supportive and talkative!

We heard frustration over chaos and delays in Liberal council planning. We heard disbelief at the 8.9% Liberal council tax rise - when they talked of 1.5%. We heard about the stress of insufficient parking - but increased parking charges.

I was bemused when a resident asked what happened to their £100 council tax rebate? Thinking it a joke, I smiled saying I’d investigate.

No joke. The Liberals promised a £100 rebate to council tax payers up and down the country last year.

Their leader, held to account on Radio 4, was forced to admit that they’d changed their minds once in office!

I find it hard to believe that Liberal politicians still make promises in campaigns, with little intention of keeping them when in office. No wonder so many former Liberal voters, feel let down with Liberal talk and inaction.
